Your questions
What is bakuchiol? What are the benefits of bakuchiol as a skincare product? How can you incorporate bakuchiol into your beauty routine?
What is bakuchiol?
100% natural, bakuchiol is an antioxidant derived from the seeds of the Psoralea corylifolia plant, also known as Babchi. Furthermore, bakuchiol is known to be a natural alternative to retinol, without the associated safety and stability concerns.
What are the benefits of bakuchiol on the skin?
Several studies have shown that bakuchiol, regardless of skin type, has a positive effect on wrinkles, fine lines, pigmentation, firmness, and skin elasticity. In short, it is a natural, effective, and non-irritating anti-aging treatment. Furthermore, this treatment significantly improves collagen production while being ultra-antioxidant, thus protecting the skin against damage caused by free radicals.
Unlike retinol (also known as vitamin A), there is no risk of skin irritation or the appearance of dark spots. Lacking the same irritating properties as retinol, bakuchiol is photostable and can therefore be used in the morning.
Finally, bakuchiol poses no risk to pregnant or breastfeeding women. And again, bakuchiol has positive effects on all skin types.
How to incorporate bakuchiol into your facial care routine?
Bakuchiol also has the advantage of not presenting any risk of conflict with other ingredients, even with fruit acids that are frequently found in exfoliating products.
What is the difference between essential oils, vegetable oils and oil macerates?
Essential oils are concentrated essences extracted directly from plants. While they can be used for DIY natural remedies, their use is not without risk and therefore requires some caution.
Vegetable oils are fats primarily extracted from seeds, kernels, and pits. Examples include olive oil, argan oil, almond oil, jojoba oil, and castor oil. Widely used in the manufacture of natural beauty products, they offer numerous benefits. Specifically, they penetrate the skin's epidermis easily. They are effective in nourishing and protecting your skin. Since each vegetable oil has specific benefits, it is important to use one that is suited to your skin type.
Oil macerates have the advantage of combining the presence of a macerated plant with that of a vegetable oil. More precisely, a plant is macerated in a vegetable oil, either hot or cold. In oil macerates, the benefits of the selected vegetable oil are enhanced by the active ingredients of the macerated plant. Thus, oil macerates are particularly valuable oils for skincare.
How to use your natural serum
When should you use your face serum?
The facial serum should be applied twice a day, morning and evening, before your moisturizer. Always apply the serum after cleansing your skin. Cleansing unclogs pores, allowing the active ingredients in your serum to penetrate deeper into your skin and deliver enhanced results. Furthermore, the moisturizer protects the skin by forming a protective film on its surface, which helps retain the serum within the skin and cells, preventing evaporation.
How to apply your face serum?
Four or five drops are sufficient, as Aimée de Mars serum is a highly concentrated product. It is recommended to collect the drops in the palm of your hand, rather than directly on your face. Direct contact with your skin can alter the serum, negatively impacting its effectiveness. The second step in applying your serum is to warm it in your palms. Specifically, use circular motions, palm to palm, to optimize its absorption. The next step involves applying the serum to each area of your face using gentle tapping motions while applying draining pressure with the palms of your hands. This allows for better penetration of the serum's active ingredients into your facial skin. Finally, we recommend repeating these steps for your neck and décolleté, two particularly delicate areas. The last step is to apply your moisturizer!
What are the benefits of oil macerates of rose, lavender, immortelle and yarrow?
Rose oil macerate is known for its powerful healing properties. It helps your skin regain its natural color. Thanks to its richness in vitamin E and omega-3 fatty acids, rose oil macerate also has regenerative and antioxidant benefits, making it a naturally anti-aging active ingredient, both preventative and curative. Finally, rose oil macerate also has softening properties, making it a valuable ally for sensitive and dull skin.
Rich in vitamin F, lavender oil macerate is particularly effective in preventing and treating skin imperfections. Indeed, lavender oil macerate possesses anti-inflammatory and healing properties. It soothes and regenerates your skin.
Immortelle oil macerate, like rose oil macerate, is rich in vitamin E. It has strong firming and regenerating properties.
Yarrow macerate is rich in vitamins A, D, E, and K. It is known for its effectiveness on open pores. More generally, it is recognized for its toning and rebalancing properties.
